This was an amazing spot to relax and hang out! The atmosphere was perfect—not too loud, with an incredible ambience that made it so enjoyable. There were puzzles and board games for kids, free arcade games, and so many fun things to see. The menu was impressive, offering a wide variety of beers on tap, seltzers, THC-infused drinks, and plenty of non-alcoholic options. Plus, there was a completely separate food menu! On top of all of that, the service was fantastic— friendly, attentive and truly added to the experience.  I can’t recommend checking this place out enough.

Cool space for sure! Easy parking, lots of seating, pet friendly. When I went they didn’t have a sour which was a bit of a bummer, but the beer we had was good. Would be a good space for a game night with friends or group gathering.

I’ve been here quite a bit over the last couple of years and can’t believe I haven’t posted a review. Simply put this is one of the very best breweries in the central NC area. The brewer is extremely knowledgeable and understands a wide variety of styles. They make the popular styles but they also make lagers, European ales, and more. Great ambiance, great outdoor space, amazing staff - friendly and know the products. Food is nearby. The kids can be a bit much but the brewery does a good job of reminding parents to be responsible. They recently opened a cocktail bar next door in the same building and sadly due to how they originally built there’s no inside connection. The overly controlling ABC doesn’t allow you to bring beer or cocktails along the sidewalk between the two - absurd but NOT their fault. Check this place out and thank me later.

This brewery offers some of the best beer I have ever tasted. Each one gives off such a unique and exquisite taste, it will make you want to try the entire menu! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor area featuring covered tables with additional courtyard-style seating. Wow what a fabulous spot to hang out and socialize with friends.  We went last night with our Maltese, Sugar and we really enjoyed it.  Well done space, love the mural art work, very clean and they have so many beer options.  I don't drink beer but love hard seltzer and was pleased with their options. I had both the Orange and Strawberry Kiwi and both were delicious.  They have a lot of tables inside and a couch area too.  Outside has so much space and seating plus a standup bar area, great lighting, fake grass for pets and a water bowl full of fresh water for them. We are big fans of Ron Ross who played today. As usual he was fantastic. Plays lots of sing along tunes that everyone knows. Saw many singing along but even more mouthing the words to some classic tunes. So our first time at the Salty Turtle and had a blast. We started off with a flight to sample 4 beers. Then I made it a game to do more 4oz glasses of all the beers. We then took advantage of the Town Hall setup. Ordered on the app and it was brought to us. How convenient. We have had many a burger at a different location so we went with something different and had nachos with chicken and some dry rub wings. Oh my, both were fantastic. We stopped here to cool down with a nice cold beer and grab some water for our dog.  The service was great and the staff was friendly.

They only had ciders and seltzers that were gluten free though. I would have given them another star if they had at least some gluten free or gluten reduced beer offerings.

The music playing was also a little too loud and aggressive for our taste. It made it difficult to actually hold a conversation, and we were sitting outside.

If you are in the area or just want to try a good atmosphere, go there. Oak City Brewery is a really nice little place. They have a large selection of beers of all kinds for all tastes and likes. They normally have s good truck on the back of the business and they are also quite good. Very family friendly most of the times I been there is a lot of families with kids of all ages they have a big open area for the kids to run around and they have tables for you to sit. Overall every time I go here is a really good experience, staff is super friendly. I've had the pleasure of bartending here for the past few months and it's been, hands down, one of the best jobs I've ever had. Management is excellent, personable in a real (not "we're family") way, and organized (I got my schedules a month ahead of time!!!); the rest of the staff is also awesome and gregarious; regulars are amicable and always a good time. Just the sweetest place, y'all.

Never a problem here. Dog and kiddo friendly, located right next to the park. Always holding cool events and the food trucks bring the sweetest of people (shout out to Berto's Chimis!) with a good variety of foods throughout the week. Check out the Markets happening during the warmer weather seasons, or cozy up inside the refurbished house-turned-bar and try out the new house brews.

Great for hosting events, parties, etc. Check it out. It's a real gem right here in Knightdale.

I knew I found something special. That was the first thought I had once we found Oak City Brewing. This local spot is in Knightdale, which is about 20 minutes from downtown Raleigh and 20 minutes from my house in Wake Forest. It's located in a 1920s renovated bungalow in the historic district of Knightdale. But the best part is that it essentially is a giant park. They have a great outdoor beer garden with tables, lights, a sweet pergola and lots of open space. They are super family, kid and pet friendly. Every time we go we usually spend our time playing soccer, frisbee or spikeball will having some great beers. They have a small brewery on site, but also have a great selection of other craft beers, wine, cider and of course juice boxes for the kids. They usually have a food truck on site and if you go on the weekends you'll probably see an ice cream truck parked beside the Knightdale Station Playground, which is a massive and awesome playground directly adjacent to the beer garden. Like I said I knew I found something special when we first went there and it is defenitly in our rotation of favorite places. Support Local and head over the Oak City Brewing…we might see you there!

Hidden gem brewery in Raleigh! They have some unique brews to try that are unlike any other brewery around. We tried the shakes, which were like if chocolate milk had alcohol in it - absolutely wild but good! Also tried a more traditional sour ipa, which was like if oj and beer an ipa were mixed as well as a sour smoothie beer, which was very thick but tasty. The taproom itself is small and pretty barren and sterile feeling aside from the 3 pinball machines, but that's the only real downside. The 2 sours we had were good. I edited my original review bc I didn’t see the ounces of drinks on the menu: The size of the can pours of sours seem a bit small, didn’t seem like 12oz. But what do I know. The establishment doesn’t have air conditioning ? It’s 97 out, come on. Great range of beers at prices you would expect. Pretty nice that it was a ton of draft craft beer, but they had all their can beers in coolers that you could peruse through. Liked that option a lot instead of having to just look at a list.

If you’re looking for a smaller, low key brewery to grab a beer this is one of those places! Not big in comparison to some but the beer is great and I love the staff!! They are always helpful and the ones I have met are friendly and knowledgeable of their products. They do have a limited liquor selection if beer isn’t your thing (why you’d be in a brewery if you didn’t want beer is little odd) and the have ‘to go’ product as well. Plenty of outdoor seating and a good bit indoors as well and the offering always has some fun experimental features as well. My personal favorite if it happens to be available is the SP Saison, an excellent farmhouse style brewed with Serrano peppers that add just the right heat to a good Saison! Check it out

It was a Delightful Sunny Day. Saturday afternoon, we wanted to enjoy the outside while have some refreshing beverages. So we decided to go to Mordecai.

Upon entry we were taken back by the vast selection of beers as well as non alcohol beers.

Found this little gem, and keep coming back!  Great selection of beer. They even have the first sour I have ever liked. Love the outdoor seating and fire tables. Not loud and overwhelming, just a chill place to grab a beer and unwind at the end of a long day.

Absolutely love this place! Altered State Brewing has become a favorite stop while my daughter’s at dance nearby. Becca was amazing super friendly and made great recommendations. Every beer I’ve tried has been solid, but I’m especially a fan of their sour selection so good. The vibe is laid-back with a great mix of indoor and outdoor seating, and the ambiance lighting makes it a perfect chill spot. Highly recommend!

Very family and pet friendly spot! The service is always amazing. Staff members are super knowledgeable about their beer and can answer just about any question you throw at them. There’s a wide variety of brews, so you’ll find something for whatever you’re into.

They also have a great selection of board games, card games, and brain puzzles available to play while you hang out. We’ve stopped by during one of their “game nights” before and had a blast—there was limbo and bingo. Highly recommend catching one if you can!

I've been wanting to check this place out for awhile, so it was lucky that they were next door to the place we had lunch.

I wasn't sure if they were going to have anything gluten free for me besides wine, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they had a cider as well as one of the beers from Armored Cow in Charlotte. The staff and atmosphere were both fantastic and we were excited to see that they had trivia that night also.

This is definitely a cool spot and we plan to come back now regularly.

Free comedy night was a lot of fun. The staff was friendly. Tasting before buying your beer is awesome! I was able to pick a brew I loved and was eager to try more.
Tiny drawbacks are it was hard to hear the comedians. The best seats for hearing were occupied by recording cameras. Boo. The only other negative was not having table service while the comedians were performing.
Bottom line, I'll be back on the 3rd Thursday every month to enjoy the brew and banter.

We stopped by for a quick drink and they have many unique brews! They also have a non alcoholic beer which was pretty good. The only complaint I had was that the bartender didn’t seem happy we showed up 20 minutes before close because he had to make an appoint to tell us that he was going to call last call and he wasn’t really kind about it. We were fine because we just wanted one beer. The mural of the moth on the wall was pretty amazing! It was nice and open!

Really cool little spot right in the heart of downtown, but with easier parking available. Love the set up and design of this place. Great outdoor seating, as well as plenty inside. Love the inlaid bartop, especially at night because the inlay lit up. Really cool!

My husband loved his beer. My wine was pretty decent. But only wine and cider as their gluten free and/or deglutenized offerings. If they had even one or 2 beers as an option for me also, I would've given them 5 stars.

We used the upstairs event area for my husband's 50th birthday party and it was a great space with plenty of tables and chairs and small table lamps also.  I really liked how the tables were already wrapped with black tablecloths.  The staff were most helpful in getting the area ready and even providing a speaker for the music.  The bartender and manager were great and so kind to our guests.  The caterer was great to work with and the food was amazing.  We had many compliments about how good the food was from our guests!  Overall, I recommend this as a nice venue for events and parties.  The pricing was great too!

I used Raleigh Brewing JoCo’s event space for my baby shower and I cannot recommend them enough!!! The food was amazing and the staff was so welcome and accommodating. Everyone went above and beyond to make our day special and our guests were also very impressed. We had about 60 people and there was plenty of space for everyone, plus the bar downstairs made a perfect escape for the guys so that we were able to do a co-ed shower that everyone enjoyed!

Walked over after checking into the hotel…great local beer and a comfortable, open area to enjoy it in. I enjoyed the game while sipping on a coconut pineapple sour that was as flavorful as it was creative. Brewery Bhavana was a great restaurant that checked the box on mini things. The place was nice and clean, the layout and design was great and included a bar area and more of a formal sitting area. The background books on a bookshelf that you could read. The food was really good. I have to give props to the chili oils spice on the table. Delicious! We ordered several dishes and the dumplings were great, and the dim sum and buns were delicious. The crab Rangoon was great. We also ordered some jasmine tea, which was tasty and they have a wide selection of beer and wine. We ordered a couple of local beers that were really tasty. The customer service was good too. Beautiful space and great for group dining! We tried a variety of dishes. Soup dumplings, seared chicken curry bao, pork belly rice cakes, and Peking duck. We had a great time here for a hang out dinner on Saturday night. The menu is sectioned out so you can either do small plates for the table (dim sum) or entrees for individual dining. And all of it is outstanding. The food is made with care and Pride, the ingredients are fresh and of quality too. Courses can be staggered so you can settle in for the whole experience.

The edamame dumplings were shockingly good. I was not expecting them to be the standout dish of the evening. The mooncakes are also just, ugh, chef’s kiss. Anything with bao is a must and the duck was so succulent and crispy. If you do order the duck, let them know early on because it does take a while to prepare.

You definitely want to get reservations ahead of time though! Sometimes you can squeeze in a same day res, but planning ahead is the way to go to make sure you get to eat at your preferred time.

It is a great place to visit the first time. I am not sure if I want to come back. The quality of the food was just OK, nothing crazy in reference to flavor and nice presentation. We ordered the duck egg rolls and they tasted not fresh, like fried from from the fridge...also we tried The Char Siu Bau, (Cantonese bbq pork steamed buns) these were kind of surprisingly good and the coconut cake for desert was fine. The server seemed to be always in a hurry and because it is like a "tapas experience" and he never worried about asking for the quality of the food, just waited for us to finish the plate, and came to the table asking: more food?. With the tip  we end up paying $80 dollars, again, kind of expensive for the quality.

We walked in with high expectations, but the experience was completely disappointing.

As our food was being served, the runner casually said, “We don’t have the pasta for the kids’ meal.” That kind of information should be communicated well before the food comes out—not when everyone else is already being served. Leaving a child without a meal while the rest of the table eats is unacceptable. What made it worse was the complete lack of accountability. No apology. No effort to correct the issue. Just silence. That’s unprofessional and shows poor judgment on both the manager’s and server’s part.

Then came the bill. We were charged for kids’ drinks and extra sauces that we never ordered. The kids’ menu made no mention of drink prices, yet when I raised the issue, the waiter simply said, “We always charge $3 for a kids’ cup,” with zero explanation or effort to clarify. Again—no apology, no transparency, and no attempt to make it right.

On top of the poor service, the food itself was nothing special. I ordered the burger, and it was by far the worst burger I’ve ever had. The meat was completely unseasoned, tough, and had an overpoweringly gamy taste. It was also served to my cold.

From start to finish, this experience was a letdown. Between the poor communication, unprofessional service, inaccurate billing, lack of accountability, and terrible food, I won’t be returning—and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic menu items, great atmosphere, and superb service! I got the Roast Chicken and it was home-y, comforting, and full of flavor! Cool place but the one sour they had on tap (plum flavored) was the sourest beer I have ever had and was almost undrinkable. The flavor was fantastic but it was so sour that after a few sips my tongue started to go numb. I love sour beers and this one had potential, but once again was a little over the top—imagine if sour skittles & warheads made a drink…it was that level😂

Friendly staff and welcoming environment. Very dog and kid friendly. Bingo tonight was a little disappointing (not a big fan of the group who ran it).

We were here on Friday evening with my husband. We took a flight to try different types of beer. In the end we liked only one type. The prices are good, not expensive. I visited today for a Pilates & Yoga event that my gym Sk1ll has here weekly. Gizmo is located not far off Glenwood/70 in the Umstead industrial area. Easy parking, dog friendly and a nice relaxing environment. Ben was very helpful and a nice guy. I sampled a THC Beer called Delta Quench. I enjoy edibles on rare occasions, so this was something new for me to try for relaxation purposes. Very refreshing ! I also had the Ginger Beekeeper. We visited last night for a few beers and loved the setup! It isn't far from RDU so you do get to see planes as they prepare for landing! The brewery is tucked away and is in a nice area. It is very easy to find with ample parking. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating near the bar.

The staff was friendly and would let you sample beers before you picked what you wanted. They also have non-alcoholic drinks for sale. Overall, it is a wonderful place to come and hang out while enjoying a craft beer!
