Great addition to the neighborhood. Casual and inviting will definitely be back. Dark Adaptation is my fav so far. They have plans for an outdoor beer garden that will be dog friendly. You can bring your own food. You can also order from Joe's and delivery fee is waived.

A couple friends and I tried several beers from Duneyrr, and they were all great. It's a cozy, friendly spot. We hit up this place and Moody Tongue in the same night, and all agreed that we liked Duneyrr's beer better. I guess a Michelin star isn't everything.

An amazing new brewery in Humboldt Park. The building is bright and sunny, and there is plenty of outdoor space as well. The beer selection is fairly small, but the beers are high quality. There are also snacks available for purchase.

Suncatcher Brewing was stop #7 on my 2025 Chicago Brewery Exploration. The tap list was pretty limited, but the locals didn’t seem to mind—and honestly, what they had was solid. I tried the MI Pale and the Rye Lager, and both were well-crafted and easy to enjoy. The place was packed, especially with families, which gave it a lively, community-centered feel. The outdoor space looked great—definitely a spot I’d like to revisit when the weather’s right.

Just hit Suncatcher Brewing in Humboldt Park for a solid evening and was seriously impressed. Spent about $20 on two 12‑oz tasters—Summer Bier and MI Pale—and grabbed a 32‑oz crowler to go. Vibes are laid‑back in a converted service station with big windows and a sweet patio. Beers are low‑ABV but full flavor, super crisp and clean. Staff were chill, beers were banging. Will def be back!

Maplewood is a great local neighborhood brewery. It is cozy on the inside, and bright on the outside patio. They have flights of beers, ipas, sloggers and stouts. Over the years, I’ve been hanging out at the Maplewood Lounge, back when it was still a small, humble taproom tucked discreetly into the end of the block. It had this undeniable charm — the kind of place where you’d walk in and be greeted by name, where conversations flowed as easily as the beer, and where the focus was clearly on community and craft. The beer and spirits was (and still is) excellent — inventive, well-balanced, and made with real care. It felt like our town’s best-kept secret, and a place you could always count on for a laid-back evening and a familiar face.

Fast forward to today, Maplewood has gone through major transformations. The addition of a full-service restaurant and a larger dining space has turned it into more of a regional attraction than a local watering hole. There’s now a full menu with a wide range of elevated pub fare — everything from seafood to Polish dishes, late-night bites to American bar food, and much more. I’ll be the first to admit: although the menu is a bit sporadic, the food is genuinely good.

While I’m happy to see a local business succeed and grow, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the soul of the old place. With growth has come a noticeable shift in vibe — it feels more polished, a bit less personal, and definitely more commercial. Wait times are longer, the atmosphere is louder, and the staff — while still friendly — often feel stretched thin during busy hours. It’s reminiscent, in a way, of Phase 3 Brewery, where a once-great stand-alone brewery has pivoted to the restaurant-first business model that also happens to sell its own beer.

In order to soak in some of that old charm of the Maplewood of the past, I enjoyed visiting on Mondays after work, when the taproom wasn’t too busy, the music was good, the staff were friendly, and an occasional Monday Night Football game or movie was playing on the TV. Unfortunately, Maplewood has recently made the decision to close their doors on Mondays.
To be clear, Maplewood is still a great spot. The beer and spirits continue to shine, and the food adds another level of appeal. It’s exciting to see a hometown favorite take things to the next level. But if you were a fan of the old, intimate feel, be prepared for a different experience — one that’s more refined and restaurant-centered, but perhaps a little less connected to its neighborhood roots.

We were stuck in Chicago traffic and randomly stopped off for dinner here - highly recommend!!! We had the onion dip, split the maplewood burger and fries, added a side salad, and ended with the dumplings. Just their side salad was delicious - so fresh! I almost asked for more dressing at first glance, but it was perfectly dressed after the first taste. The burger was mouth watering!! The dumplings were so fresh, homemade and delicious. I ordered the Thirst Trap drink (so tasty) and then wanted something resembling more of a martini which is what I usually go for. They made the Thirst Trap into a martini style drink, it was perfect! Great atmosphere. We were fortunate enough to sit next to the kitchen door, and every single dish that came out looked so good!! Hard to choose. We’ll definitely be back!

I'm so thankful to this brewery for how they hosted my friend's wedding. I felt very included, often at large events I'll sit back and relax and I felt like in this the hosting staff gave me opportunities to participate even for my introverted self by asking if I needed anything and then bringing me a glass of water and so it really felt like home. Security was good I heard one of the hosts say politely but firmly say to someone that someone that it was a private event. Overall tons of fun and worth a visit (I'm not a local either so take that in mind too)

Good stop for beers and bites. Steak frites were great. Nice, crispy fries. Had some tasty beers as well. We sat outside as we had a dog with us. It is dog friendly for outdoor seating, but it's right below a train stop so prepare for noise! Friendly service as well.

Industry Ales is a great brew pub and a welcome addition to the Loop. Situated just under the el tracks, the atmosphere is great. The beers are tasty and well balanced with good variety. Perhaps the star of the show for me was the smash burger. Perfect, lacey crust, delicious special sauce, and crispy pickles. Amazing! Definitely a new go-to spot for me!

This is a great brewery for hanging out with a group, having a party, or bringing your dog. The space is very large and the upstairs is also large and beautiful. The beers are solid and there is a good selection. Make sure to eat beforehand, as there are only snacks here. Parking is very easy in their dedicated parking lot or all along the street.

Love this spot! It was my first time back since the rooftop opened and it is SO gorgeous! It’s going to be incredible in the summer but the views of the skyline are so pretty. Beers are top notch and very true to style. Definitely worth the trek to the far west loop.

We hosted a birthday at Midwest Coast Brewing this past Saturday and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I recently visited this brewery in Chicago and was blown away by the amazing experience! The place is not only cool and spacious, but they also have different artisan beers with incredible flavors. Hop Butcher for the World kicked off my 2025 Chicago brewery exploration, and it absolutely set the bar high. Amazing spot with a cool, laid-back vibe and a killer variety of beers. Hop Butcher is definitely the best IPA brewery in the city (don't sleep on their other beers though), and having them in my neighborhood is the best! I love that this brewery opened earlier this year in Malt Row. Not that the area lacks beer, but more breweries are always better! This one is very inviting on a quiet street with plenty of parking. It's a very easy place to just pop in and have some tasters or a quick full pour.

The MO here seems to brew smaller batches that rotate frequently, which I love so that I can try a variety of beers and styles. They also always have a hard seltzer on tap, and I haven't had a bad one yet. In fact, I haven't had a bad beer here at all! The staff is always friendly, there is plenty of space to sit, there are board games to play, and there is a merch area with some cool-looking stuff.

I will definitely keep coming here as along as I can to support the business, as long as they keep doing what they're doing!

Great find. I saw it on Google maps when checking directions to another very nearby brewery and wanted to check it out. Did not disappoint! It’s a little grittier than your typical Chicago brewery. Casual, relaxed atmosphere. Great variety of beer, seltzers & wine. They also have a couple non alcoholic beers. In addition to a large bar with extremely comfortable bar stools, they have tables & chairs and a comfy sitting area with a couch. They do not serve food, but you’re welcome to bring food or have it delivered. And kids & pets are welcome. Nice apparel choices…shirts, beanies, beer glasses. Went in for the tour and had a fun time learning cool facts!! Our tour guide, Andrew was so nice and knowledgeable. You get 3 samples and get to see behind the scenes action of the brewery. Highly recommend if you are just visiting the area and want to learn more about the roots of the town + have good beer. Side note the beer pictured is high percentage so smaller, you will get a full beer just to start the tour.

Five stars for the beers on offer. One star for the service. It started alright with me opening a tab with a credit card and ordering some beers. But the guy, bouncer style, had some memory issues. Three out of three times he asked for my name to charge the right credit card and two out of three times he brought me another beer than the one I has requested. To be fair, he gave me the beers I didn't ask as a gift, while he poured the ones I had ordered. But things got worse when it became a bit busy. Two more members of staff appeared behind the bar, a guy that looked ready for the lead role in the musical Jesus Christ Super Star and a friendly girl with blue hair. But they spend more time socialising than actually serving customers. I wanted to order some more beer, but the staff member I wanted to ask just sprinted away. Funny, because after waiting a while, we closed our tab with another member of staff, she reappeared and asked me if I wanted to order. Yes, ten minutes ago, but not anymore. The beers were great, but most of the staff seems wanting to be somewhere else. So, we decided not to bother them any longer interrupting their busy night by asking for service and left.

It's a really nice vibe, had good beers and very good food. Burgers are very good and the fries were great to!
Loved the casual vibe and the many options of beer, all very well crafted, in particular their IPAs. Highly recommend for a chill night out.
Only thing was that food took some time to be ready, but overall it's a great spot!

Marz Community Brewing is stop #5 on my 2025 Chicago Brewery Exploration, and it’s easy to see why this place is a local favorite. It was busy when I walked in, but still had that chill, neighborhood brewery feel. The IPAs were tasty and well-balanced—nothing overdone, just solid, thoughtful brewing. Ed and the Marz brew crew just get it. Delicious beers and beverages, but the burger is where it's at. I've been fortunate enough to enjoy pizza and Taco Sublime, and more recently, the burrito that's currently on the menu. Went for the Saturday afternoon brewery tour. Very recommendable. Tony did a great job explaining the history of the place, the company and was very knowledgeable about the different brews. The main (Tap) room is a large and welcoming space with a wide variety of Beers that have been brewed on site.  Via Metra it's an easy walk from the Belmont Blue Line stop. Great beers, nice people!

Wonderful service. Great beer with many varieties. They serve small snacks, but you can order delivery or bring your own food. There are lots of tables so you can sit in peace or hang out with the amazing staff at the bar. On tap are such a wide variety, it’s impossible you won’t find something you love. Large taproom with minimal parking. Was fairly empty on a Friday night. There was an off duty worker who had LOTS of opinions about everything and never stopped talking, I only bring this up as he was talking with the bartenders so much, service was slow. This brewery never disappoints. Imperial Pajamas is excellent and several IPA and ale options provide great selection. They even have canned beer at reasonable prices. Shannon was working the bar and she really knows these beers. She describes them more elegantly than most men I've heard describe a woman. She listened to me, she gave me suggestions, and they worked out really nicely.

They have a nice seating area outside and the inside seating is spacious.

Because they have large windows, it's pretty cool inside.

Begyle felt like a cosy neighbourhood drinking hole, and the staff was friendly & welcoming. I went for the 3 x 5oz taster flight, and selected Begyle Blonde, Euchred (Midwest IPA) & Imperial Pajamas (oatmeal stout with coffee) nitro variant. All of them were good, but my personal favourite was the stout.

Time to freshen up this review for 2025. Just what you want in your neighborhood brewery. Should be able to find street parking but I'm able to walk there which works well because it's a brewery and beers are solid and varied. You won't find a brewery with friendlier staff. Dovetail has great respect for European beer and a really well-done menu and space with attention to details in the brewing process.

Have had the core four many times (and are available throughout the city), so was very delighted on a few visits to try the summer hopfenlager, the framboise, and a radler after a bike ride, and it did indeed hit the spot.

The beer is great and the staff are chill.  They've got their own good eats, but have some food popups for the summer which is nice.

We have been with our toddler, though I would call it neutral on kids (like I wouldn't bring a gaggle of 'em). The staff seem fine with it, space can just be limited. We've got a runner and she does better on their little patio, where unofficially the very end has become a little spot for fun with chalk.

Walking in, the people are very friendly. It seems like everyone knows someone at the bar, so that was comforting to see. The staff seemed to be more about business. Place your order, is it ok, if something is wrong, they're going to try to get to the nitty-gritty of what the problem with the beer is. It's not that they're unfriendly, but you can tell that the staff cares a lot about their business.

I ordered the Porter and Framboise. The Porter wasn't super heavy or too bold on flavor. The Framboise is tart, sour, almost kabocha tangy, but that's what made it addicting.

I ordered the homemade chips with onion dip. 10/10 I knew I would be craving it when I left. It's really fresh and light, but with a lot of flavor!

The interior is really warm and pleasant. It's feels inviting and like you should stay and relax a while.

Spot on, fantastic German, Czech, and Belgian style biers!  Great Great wild fermented biers also. SO MANY you can't try them all in one visit.  Super convenient location to the Brown Line. Awasome patio out front I'd love to come back and visit in the warmer weather.
The ONLY reason i didn't give them 5 stars is the SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE furniture in the place!  Really terrible.  Your 2 choices are very small (8 in diameter?) flat disc wood stools with a tiny, super low back that does nothing OR hard flat bottom and flat back wooden bench seats.  SO terrible.  Totally would have stayed longer but too painful.  How do they think anyone would stay for more than a couple beers?? Please get new stools (and try them out yourself first!), or cusions or SOMETHING!!

We managed to visit on a beautiful October afternoon, so we were able to take advantage of the (dog-friendly) patio area. Very nice neighborhood atmosphere, and a great selection of beer from light to dark and in between. Nice amount of space if you need to sit inside. Very pleasant.   Aye outside and it was nice.  There were several children running around, which I don't care for, but that is ok.
I got the paella and it was very light and nothing to complain about.  We started with the happy hour nachos, which were small and not hot, but tasted fine.  The cheesecake dessert was nothing to write home about.

This is one of the best cideries in the area. But if you’re into beer, they make that too! The building is super cool and historic, and parking is easy on Irving Park out front. The food is delicious as well, but I admit I usually only get the ciders. Eris is woman-owned, which I fully support!

I visited here for the 1st time a few weeks ago. Google Search said this was the closest place with a decent rating that had food. The space is beautiful. It is very open and room to spread out if you want some privacy. I think it's a perfect spot for friends' night or a good date night. We were greeted upon entering.
We didn't drink any alcohol but there were self serve beer stations set up all around. I'm not sure how it works since we didn't drink. The food is ordered on kiosks, and then you go pick it up when it's ready. There are no waiters/waitresses.
The food came out pretty quickly, and it was hot. The fries were great! The tacos were just ok. Not really seasoned to my liking. I wouldn't order them again, but I would go back here to try the beers and other menu items. Very nice atmosphere.

Friendly staff and great priced cocktails(Especially when visiting from LA). I got $13 Manhattans, that is unheard of anywhere near where I live.

I ordered the surf & turf skewers since they stood out to me and the bartender said they were the best thing on the menu.portion size is definitely shareable and I ended up getting two orders.

The dishes was a little too salty but great flavors and served over twice cooked garlic potatoes.

Nice spot with a nice selection of their own merch for sale.
