I’ve been here quite a bit over the last couple of years and can’t believe I haven’t posted a review. Simply put this is one of the very best breweries in the central NC area. The brewer is extremely knowledgeable and understands a wide variety of styles. They make the popular styles but they also make lagers, European ales, and more. Great ambiance, great outdoor space, amazing staff - friendly and know the products. Food is nearby. The kids can be a bit much but the brewery does a good job of reminding parents to be responsible. They recently opened a cocktail bar next door in the same building and sadly due to how they originally built there’s no inside connection. The overly controlling ABC doesn’t allow you to bring beer or cocktails along the sidewalk between the two - absurd but NOT their fault. Check this place out and thank me later.

This brewery offers some of the best beer I have ever tasted. Each one gives off such a unique and exquisite taste, it will make you want to try the entire menu! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor area featuring covered tables with additional courtyard-style seating. Staff is excellent and friendly and the whole place gives off the perfect vibe! Highly recommend!

Great to see the Salty Turtle here in Raleigh! Monica had the Kolsch and I had the Hazy IPA and both were very good. Dog friendly and lots of outdoor seating. No food service but you can order from local eateries and have it delivered. No Brewing on site -the beers come up from Surf City. Still very good!!

Wow what a fabulous spot to hang out and socialize with friends.  We went last night with our Maltese, Sugar and we really enjoyed it.  Well done space, love the mural art work, very clean and they have so many beer options.  I don't drink beer but love hard seltzer and was pleased with their options. I had both the Orange and Strawberry Kiwi and both were delicious.  They have a lot of tables inside and a couch area too.  Outside has so much space and seating plus a standup bar area, great lighting, fake grass for pets and a water bowl full of fresh water for them. They also sell clothing, I bought a T-shirt. 👌 I will be back with my girlfriend soon!! You can order food from Town Hall and eat out back or Wakefield Tavern, Chinese or Mexican as there are lots of offerings in the shopping center. I have been coming here off and on over the last 2 years, however I've really enjoyed coming in more frequently over the last few months. The service is always great, the bartenders are extremely friendly and love to engage in conversation, everyone here just comes off as good people.   Plus there is always some type of evening event taking place so there is always some kind of fun to get into there. Quickly becoming my go to bar in the Raleigh/ Wake Forest area.

We are big fans of Ron Ross who played today. As usual he was fantastic. Plays lots of sing along tunes that everyone knows. Saw many singing along but even more mouthing the words to some classic tunes. So our first time at the Salty Turtle and had a blast. We started off with a flight to sample 4 beers. Then I made it a game to do more 4oz glasses of all the beers. We then took advantage of the Town Hall setup. Ordered on the app and it was brought to us. How convenient. We have had many a burger at a different location so we went with something different and had nachos with chicken and some dry rub wings. Oh my, both were fantastic. Looking forward to more dates listening to live music and enjoying great beers.

If you are in the area or just want to try a good atmosphere, go there. Oak City Brewery is a really nice little place. They have a large selection of beers of all kinds for all tastes and likes. They normally have s good truck on the back of the business and they are also quite good. Very family friendly most of the times I been there is a lot of families with kids of all ages they have a big open area for the kids to run around and they have tables for you to sit. Overall every time I go here is a really good experience, staff is super friendly. Now heads up, if it's busy you more likely will have to wait s bit for your beer but the line moves fast, so just wait. Highly Recommend it! 🔥🔥🔥

Great space and they actually have some decent gluten free options, plus food trucks on a regular basis.

It looks like they have at least 2 gluten reduced options now, plus cider, seltzer and wine. The outdoor seating area is nice and large. Really wish there was a specific section for those smoking though since it ruins it for the rest of us that don't smoke or care to smell it.

I stopped by for a good brewski and tbh I’ve been here plenty of times before yesterday and the service sucked. It doesn’t seem anywhere near the southern hospitality. I didn’t care for the attendant but the beer was great. I’m giving a 3 so to the service I received. Your place may have great choices in beer and wines but when the service sucks it also affects your business. Plus the hours are in correct. Thursdays went by and they were closed on Thursday way before the closing time!

I've had the pleasure of bartending here for the past few months and it's been, hands down, one of the best jobs I've ever had. Management is excellent, personable in a real (not "we're family") way, and organized (I got my schedules a month ahead of time!!!); the rest of the staff is also awesome and gregarious; regulars are amicable and always a good time. Just the sweetest place, y'all.

Never a problem here. Dog and kiddo friendly, located right next to the park. Always holding cool events and the food trucks bring the sweetest of people (shout out to Berto's Chimis!) with a good variety of foods throughout the week. Check out the Markets happening during the warmer weather seasons, or cozy up inside the refurbished house-turned-bar and try out the new house brews.

Great for hosting events, parties, etc. Check it out. It's a real gem right here in Knightdale.

I knew I found something special. That was the first thought I had once we found Oak City Brewing. This local spot is in Knightdale, which is about 20 minutes from downtown Raleigh and 20 minutes from my house in Wake Forest. It's located in a 1920s renovated bungalow in the historic district of Knightdale. But the best part is that it essentially is a giant park. They have a great outdoor beer garden with tables, lights, a sweet pergola and lots of open space. They are super family, kid and pet friendly. Every time we go we usually spend our time playing soccer, frisbee or spikeball will having some great beers. They have a small brewery on site, but also have a great selection of other craft beers, wine, cider and of course juice boxes for the kids. They usually have a food truck on site and if you go on the weekends you'll probably see an ice cream truck parked beside the Knightdale Station Playground, which is a massive and awesome playground directly adjacent to the beer garden. Like I said I knew I found something special when we first went there and it is defenitly in our rotation of favorite places. Support Local and head over the Oak City Brewing…we might see you there!

Technically it's funguys and fungals. The beers were so good we stopped by twice. Many different styles to enjoy, the smoothie sours are the stars of the show. But everything is really good. Hidden gem brewery in Raleigh! They have some unique brews to try that are unlike any other brewery around. We tried the shakes, which were like if chocolate milk had alcohol in it - absolutely wild but good! Also tried a more traditional sour ipa, which was like if oj and beer an ipa were mixed as well as a sour smoothie beer, which was very thick but tasty. The taproom itself is small and pretty barren and sterile feeling aside from the 3 pinball machines, but that's the only real downside. It's worth it to visit to try some of their unusual concoctions!

The 2 sours we had were good. I edited my original review bc I didn’t see the ounces of drinks on the menu: The size of the can pours of sours seem a bit small, didn’t seem like 12oz. But what do I know. The establishment doesn’t have air conditioning ? It’s 97 out, come on. I wanted to try some IPAs but I was literally sweating drinking my first sour and just couldn’t take it anymore.

If you’re looking for a smaller, low key brewery to grab a beer this is one of those places! Not big in comparison to some but the beer is great and I love the staff!! They are always helpful and the ones I have met are friendly and knowledgeable of their products. They do have a limited liquor selection if beer isn’t your thing (why you’d be in a brewery if you didn’t want beer is little odd) and the have ‘to go’ product as well. Plenty of outdoor seating and a good bit indoors as well and the offering always has some fun experimental features as well. My personal favorite if it happens to be available is the SP Saison, an excellent farmhouse style brewed with Serrano peppers that add just the right heat to a good Saison! Check it out

It was a Delightful Sunny Day. Saturday afternoon, we wanted to enjoy the outside while have some refreshing beverages. So we decided to go to Mordecai.

Upon entry we were taken back by the vast selection of beers as well as non alcohol beers.

They had plenty of seating as well as a stage area where I’d guess they have live music.

The only complaint I had was that the bartender didn’t seem happy we showed up 20 minutes before close because he had to make an appoint to tell us that he was going to call last call and he wasn’t really kind about it. Really cool little spot right in the heart of downtown, but with easier parking available. Love the set up and design of this place. Great outdoor seating, as well as plenty inside. Love the inlaid bartop, especially at night because the inlay lit up. Really cool!

My husband loved his beer. My wine was pretty decent. But only wine and cider as their gluten free and/or deglutenized offerings. If they had even one or 2 beers as an option for me also, I would've given them 5 stars.

We used the upstairs event area for my husband's 50th birthday party and it was a great space with plenty of tables and chairs and small table lamps also.  I really liked how the tables were already wrapped with black tablecloths.  The staff were most helpful in getting the area ready and even providing a speaker for the music.  The bartender and manager were great and so kind to our guests.  The caterer was great to work with and the food was amazing.  We had many compliments about how good the food was from our guests!  Overall, I recommend this as a nice venue for events and parties.  The pricing was great too!

I used Raleigh Brewing JoCo’s event space for my baby shower and I cannot recommend them enough!!! The food was amazing and the staff was so welcome and accommodating. Everyone went above and beyond to make our day special and our guests were also very impressed. We had about 60 people and there was plenty of space for everyone, plus the bar downstairs made a perfect escape for the guys so that we were able to do a co-ed shower that everyone enjoyed!

Cool place but the one sour they had on tap (plum flavored) was the sourest beer I have ever had and was almost undrinkable. The flavor was fantastic but it was so sour that after a few sips my tongue started to go numb. I love sour beers and this one had potential, but once again was a little over the top—imagine if sour skittles & warheads made a drink…it was that level😂

Friendly staff and welcoming environment. Very dog and kid friendly. Bingo tonight was a little disappointing (not a big fan of the group who ran it).

We were here on Friday evening with my husband. We took a flight to try different types of beer. In the end we liked only one type. The prices are good, not expensive. The staff was reserved and not emotional. I visited today for a Pilates & Yoga event that my gym Sk1ll has here weekly. Gizmo is located not far off Glenwood/70 in the Umstead industrial area. Easy parking, dog friendly and a nice relaxing environment. Ben was very helpful and a nice guy. I sampled a THC Beer called Delta Quench. I enjoy edibles on rare occasions, so this was something new for me to try for relaxation purposes. Very refreshing ! I also had the Ginger Beekeeper. Very light and deliciously refreshing after an intense Pilates/Yoga class. I plan to return and bring my dog to enjoy the patio and other new brews.

We visited last night for a few beers and loved the setup! It isn't far from RDU so you do get to see planes as they prepare for landing! The brewery is tucked away and is in a nice area. It is very easy to find with ample parking. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating near the bar.

The staff was friendly and would let you sample beers before you picked what you wanted. They also have non-alcoholic drinks for sale. Overall, it is a wonderful place to come and hang out while enjoying a craft beer!

This is one of my favorite breweries. The outdoor space is amazing! So much space and so many tables. I love to spend a Sunday here when the weather is nice. Lots of selection and you can easily order food from Wilson’s next door. We haven’t had trouble parking in the lot and verifying it once you’re inside.

Visited here on a week night. The bar tenders were friendly and helpful. Service was fast. They have a good selection of different styles of beer. The beers I tried were good, some very good. They have a nice location with indoor and outdoor areas. Definitely recommend this place if your looking for a place, with good beer, to relax.

Our experience started off fine, we were told the only available seating was outside, and that was totally okay with us. We were seated at a table with no cover, which again, no big deal… even though there were multiple covered tables nearby marked “reserved.”

Right as our pizza arrived, it started to lightly rain, still no issue. I asked what happens if it starts raining harder, and was told, and I quote, “I don’t know, we don’t have any space inside… I guess we can bring you a box quickly.”

At this point, I was mildly annoyed but still willing to roll with it. We asked for the check and a box. Then we watched the two white couples seated at the other uncovered tables get told that actually, there were open tables inside and they could move in if it started raining.

So, let me get this straight: they get offered cover, and we’re told to basically deal with soggy pizza or leave. To make things even better all the “reserved” tables were empty the entire time we were there.

This place was awesome! Visiting from out of town and wanting to find a great local brewery, and stumbled upon this place. Josh was so helpful, very informative and went out of his way to find beers that we would enjoy. So much we brought them back to Florida with us. Definitely recommend for people looking for great craft beer and a good time.

Their beers were excellent, and I really enjoyed the taproom area – it's small but very comfortable, and the outdoor seating is a great bonus. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and I especially appreciated that they are dog-friendly, which is a must for us. Plus, having a food truck regularly is a nice touch.

I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Raleigh so I can visit again!

Well it seems that they have improved the staff in the meantime the bad review. The bartender offered kindly some samples to taste. Limited choices of beers but good quality. Plus they have a selection of cigars too for the ones that like to smoke one outside.

I love this spot! I have had good experiences at all the LR locations! Wake Forest, 5 points (now closed :( ), RDU airport, but my favorite will always be the original Gulf Court location.

The best brewery tour I have ever been on was here but it has since moved to a new location. The tour guide even looked a little like the Lonerider logo! Was very educational about every step of the process and explained how each machine worked. The free samples were an added bonus! Sweet Josie Brown Ale is one of my favorite beers.

Great brewery filled with great beers. Shotgun Betty and Sweet Josie are some good picks. Dog friendly and large outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. About seven tables inside along with bar seating when it’s raining or cold. If you enjoy board games they have a couple dozen around the bar for folks to borrow.

I’m posting this on behalf of my friend because his review was deleted—but I was there as well and can confirm our experience. We visited Lonerider Brewery on March 22, 2025, at 6 PM, and the service was terrible. The lady at the counter was extremely rude, which really put a damper on our visit. Despite that, I still left a tip just to avoid making my night worse.

The place was empty, and the beer selection was very limited. In the service industry, a good bartender is crucial to the experience, and unfortunately, this place failed in that regard. There are plenty of better breweries out there with both great beer and great service. I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Clouds Brewing Tap Room is an amazing space for any event. Great staff, stellar communication and organization, very accommodating, and most of all welcoming! With multiple rooms and a huge outdoor space this venue has all you need for a successful party.

Francis was amazingly accommodating to whatever we wanted to have in the space and dropped everything to help us with what we needed the week leading up. Quick and detailed communication from them, which made the process smooth and easy.

The stage was a nice surprise that came in handy for speeches and our free raffle, the tables inside allowed everyone to spread out but still be connected, the outdoor space was a great addition to our summer kick off, and our guests loved the huge list of beers, ciders, and wine. Another big plus was the ample amount of parking. Very hard to find a venue with not only free but enough parking to accommodate large groups in Raleigh--Clouds has it!

I had less than 2 weeks to plan my moms surprise 70th birthday and was doing it living in another state. Clouds Brewing Tap Room popped up in my google search and we left a voicemail and email follow up asking if we could hold the event at their venue. We were looking for a more chill vibe and for a weekday late lunch. We knew we wanted to let my mom’s friends and old coworkers walk around and mingle. We got word the next day saying they could do it and ironed out all the other details quickly via text and email.

Francis - the manager we spoke to was so easy to talk to and quick to respond. Seriously, he made the entire process, that could have easily been super stressful, very smooth. He is also very nice and accommodating to a lot of our requests. He completely understood what we were going for. On the day of the event, he even had napkins for our event, which in all my planning somehow I forgot. He was also easy to get along with during the event. I definitely recommend the taproom for social events or private events.

This place also has great beers - I loved the lagers and the pilsners. We enjoyed the smell of hops as soon as we entered to start prepping. Michael - the brewer was so cool and so nice! He is onto something and can’t wait to come back and visit.

Definitely a great place to hang out with friends. It was even kid friendly as my 3 year old son and my nephews (3yo, 7yo) were able to be kids and had a little spot. There are tons of events on their page that look appealing to attend to also.

This is our favorite brewery in Raleigh! A hidden gem that is a hit for the entire family (even the four-legged members). Clouds Taproom has plenty of fun, family friendly events like their quarterly Family Day and New Year’s Eve Kids Ball Drop. They’ve hosted a friend's birthday party and even my son’s pre-school end-of-year party. The entire staff is welcoming and eager to know their patrons by name which is very refreshing. Clouds Taproom will always get our business over the other breweries in the area because of their tasty beer, free (and plentiful) parking, and space for our kids to play. I enjoy coming here to see the live music, which is free. The last time I went, it was from 7 -9 pm. The website TriangleOnTheCheap usually has their live music nights listed. There are many craft beers of all kinds on tap and you can get a flight of samples too. The restaurant inside is great, with a good variety of bar foods / American mostly. There are board games available to use, and two dart boards next to each other. I'm pretty sure dogs are allowed inside. There is also outdoor seating. There are a couple arcade games. The bathrooms are clean and nice. You can take home packaged craft beers as well. The bartenders do a great job, are polite and fast and were happy to help me with my specific/complicated request.

Our real estate team, Carlton Realty Co, hosted our annual client event at CRB today with 80+ people and it was fantastic!

Tanner was super helpful with planning and she and Josh both made sure that everything went smoothly day of and we were well taken care of. We had the taproom to ourselves with yard games, board games, great drinks, and fantastic food. The outside patio was awesome, especially with the umbrellaed tables.

Our team and clients all had a really great time, including all the kiddos and dogs! There was something to keep everyone entertained and having fun.

We would highly recommend CRB for any large events and will definitely be back!

My husband and I are new to the area and came for a beer. Beertender was nice and beer was good but was not expecting all of the kids. They are running around like it’s a chuck-e-cheese. Throwing up the corn hole bags all over the place. We’d love to play darts and chills on a late Saturday afternoon but can’t because of all of the kids around. A little disappointed to say the least. I get family friendly but it’s hard to enjoy my beer with all the kids running around like it’s a playground. Wish they enforced their policy posted on the door. Beer was good.

What a neat little brewery!! A little off the beaten path, but so worth the venture. Also very dog friendly, which is awesome for anyone who doesn't wanna leave their furry friend in the car or at home. Their drinks were well made and well priced. I didn't try the food, but I'll be back for sure! Josh was very helpful in moving the line around the bar along and getting everyone their drinks in a timely fashion. Also, they do birthday parties! So much more than just a brewery
